leave the carving to the kids this year and create your own 'posh pumpkins' to
decorate the house - perfect for your halloween celebrations!
We created this effect using Appliglue and gold foil.
For our first try we foiled directly onto the pumpkin

| Before starting we sealed the pumpkins - we used our decoupage finish but any varnish will do. We then left overnight to dry completely | We then smeared clear Appliglue over the pumpkin, left it to dry for 5 - 10 mins and then started foiling. Simply apply the foil and rub with a soft cloth to achieve the foiling. | Repeat the process several times to get good coverage. The foil leaves it with a natural gloss finish! |

We then tried painting the pumpkin first and were delighted with the results

| A tester pot from your local DIY store is perfect. We gave the pumpkim a bit of a rub with sandpaper first and then sealed afterwards with decoupage finish as above | Once the decoupage is dry fthen start foiling as above |
